10 AMAZING Christmas Craft Stick Crafts

I love finding ways to make every day objects into treasured items. Especially, crafts that will decorate the Christmas tree every year and bring happy memories of the year that you created them.

I have 10 amazing popsicle stick Christmas DIYs that are easy enough to create with your family, or go on and make them during a solo crafting session. At the end of this post, I also include a Christmas cupcake decorating idea!

As always, there is a video right here, just in case you want to watch how these crafts are made.

1 // Craft Stick Snowman

Do you wanna build a snowman? Ok, let’s start with some popsicle sticks and miter shears. Since we’re only using the 90 degree angle on these projects, you could use regular scissors for all these popsicle stick crafts.

  1. Cut 2 popsicle sticks to be a little shorter than the width of 4 popsicle sticks.

  2. Hot glue those to the back to help stabilize these ornaments so they can last for many Christmas’s to come.

  3. Sand any rough edges down where you made the cuts because you don’t want future Christmas memories for these ornaments to include splinters!

  4. Add a coat of white paint to the body of the snowman. I’m just painting the fronts of these, but if you want to go all out and paint the backs too, go for it!

  5. Stick 2 pieces of washi tape to poster board and trim them out.

  6. Cut the edges into tiny strips to represent the tassels on the scarf.

  7. Add 2 black buttons to the front.

  8. Paint the top with some black paint and then paint another piece of a popsicle stick black and attach.

  9. Attach a silver star to the snowman’s hat.

  10. Use a Sharpie paint pen for the snowman’s face.

  11. The last part is to add the string on the back, so you can hang this on your Christmas tree. Add a bit of hot glue and then place the string on top. Then finish off with a bit more hot glue on top to seal that string in place.

2 // Craft Stick Santa

Next, we’re going to make a Santa ornament.

  1. Start the same way as you did with the snowman, by connecting 4 popsicle sticks together.

  2. Cut a piece of poster board into a triangle and attach to the top.

  3. Paint Santa’s face pink (or whatever color you want him to be) and his hat and body red.

  4. Attach some cotton balls for Santa’s beard and hat.
Add a small red pom pom for his nose and then 3 buttons for his coat.

  5. Add a string for hanging on the tree.

3 // Angel Ornament DIY

You’ll notice I’m using some of the same materials over and over again. This is really handy, because you can gather your supplies in the beginning and have everything you need to make 10 different crafts!

  1. Start by cutting a circle out of some white poster board.

  2. Paint the circle pink for her face, or whatever color you like.

  3. Connect 3 popsicle sticks together with the method we used earlier.

  4. Trim up a few more pieces for her arms and legs and then paint everything.

  5. Use a white pipe cleaner for her wings and halo. You can add a little lace to the back of her wings, but this step is optional.

  6. After glueing everything together and adding the string, this angel is ready to bless our Christmas tree with her presence!

// Christmas Cupcake Decorating Idea

And now for that little bonus I promised you. A Christmas wreath cupcake! Yum!

  1. This is another fun holiday activity for the family. You can bake these cupcakes as fancy as you want, or just go with some boxed cake mix.

  2. All you need is red and green M&M’s and a few sprinkles to make a festive wreath cupcake.

  3. After you get the icing on, start at the outer edge and place the green M&M’s around the edge, like this.

  4. Then add a few red sprinkles to look like small flowers.

  5. For the middle, add a few red M&M’s and I think it looks like a poinsettia in the middle.

Super easy and a whole table of these would look gorgeous on a holiday table.
