Holiday Coffee Bar Ideas with a Farmhouse Decor Vibe

Don’t you just love those cozy holiday mornings by the fireplace with your coffee in hand? I have some holiday coffee bar ideas with a farmhouse decor theme. Dressing up the area where you have your Keurig or coffee maker is a great way to make your home feel ultra cozy for the holidays and your holiday guests will appreciate the attention to detail. Check out the video below to see how this coffee bar came together. Or read on below the video to see the steps, so you can delight your guests with your own DIY Christmas coffee & hot cocoa bar.

Let’s start with a “before” shot of my coffee bar area. Super boring. This is just a spare countertop in the kitchen. There usually isn’t much on the counter, other than the Keurig.

Side note…a Keurig would make a great holiday present for someone special in your life – especially hard to shop for guys!

I keep the K-cups in the drawer below this counter and the mugs in a cabinet above. But we will be making this so that everything easily accessible for any holiday guests that happen to get up early and want to help themselves to a cup of coffee.

// step 1

Let’s get right into the first step which is to clean the area.

It’s kind of hard to see on this granite, but a lot of splashes come from the Keurig and get all over the countertops. The Keurig itself gets dirty and even though it’s black, so it’s hard to see those coffee splashes, getting this coffee bar setup nice and tidy is a great way to make it guest ready. I use the Seventh Generation Free and Clear natural surface cleaner on my countertops. It seems to get the job done and is a little more natural than some other cleaners out there. I even use this same cleaner right on the Keurig.

// step 2

We want to start with a nice plush base layer to give this cold granite a welcoming feel. For the first layer, I am going to lay down a red velour table runner. It is too long for the counter, so I just doubled it up so it would fit the space.

I found these gorgeous wood platters at Target and they give any table decor area a farmhouse feel. I added a wooden candleholder to tie in with that wooden platter and then put a little LED lit Christmas tree on top for decoration. I found that LED light at Target, too.

A lot of these items I used in my Christmas farmhouse tablescape, so if you want a full list of the items and want to see how gorgeous that tablescape came out, then I will link that post for you right here:

Next, I put the Starbucks Italian coffee pods in a glass bowl with a few gold Christmas ornaments. The Italian roast is a nice dark one. This came out really festive and since it is clear, it is very easy for guests to find the coffee. You could throw a few hot chocolate K-cups in there too for good measure.

Then I added a few mugs, so guests don’t have to hunt for them in the cabinets. Since several people may be having coffee at the same time, I did a few different ribbons on the handles as markers for the mugs.

I filled this red bowl with some sweeteners and then set up a place for some goodies to go with that hot drink. I added another candle holder with a red bowl for the regular sugar.

I also placed some cinnamon rolls and scones on a plate for snacks to go along with that coffee and hot chocolate in the morning.

You have everything you need here, but to make it just a little more festive, I added a few berry picks for color and to fill in any empty spaces. You could also add a little garland or greenery to yours. Just a few little decor pieces really help dress up the space and make it really inviting for guests.

And here is the finished Christmas coffee station. I love how this came out because it has everything guests will need right at their fingertips and takes the guesswork out of getting things ready for guests when you are half awake after entertaining the night before.
