3 Valentine's Day High-End Dollar Tree DIYs
Dollar Tree has so many options to create the perfect Valentine’s Day wreath, so today I’ve got 3 completely different wreath ideas. One is a traditional red and white style, one is more soft and sweet (kinda shabby chic), and then another is an elegant farmhouse rustic look. So, there’s something for everyone in this post.
As always, I created a video tutorial, which has the same info as I wrote out below. If you want to watch instead of read, click the thumbnail below and make sure to “Subscribe” while you’re over on YouTube.
// farmhouse
We’ll start with this wire wreath frame from Dollar Tree and wrap it with this really thick ribbon, which I found in the Dollar Plus section at my Dollar Tree. It has a gold glittery edge.
I found this cute wooden arrow at Dollar Tree and it will fit nicely on the center of our wreath. A coat of light pink chalk paint will add that Valentine’s Day vibe to our rustic wreath.
Now that the arrow is painted (I’ll be securing that arrow onto the middle with some glue at the end), we’ll use some of these 3 dimensional letter stickers to make our message. I don’t have a Cricut cutter, so I have to get creative in the different ways I add lettering to my projects. But I’m a graphic designer, so I’m kinda obsessed with lettering/typography and I don’t mind hunting around for new ways to create wording on my projects. The white foam letter stickers I’m using on this sign are from Dollar Tree, but you can find similar ones from Target too.
I have some greenery and am just adding this to the top of the wreath. A few soft pink florals will go nicely with our pink arrow.
I finishing by adding a ribbon at the top to hang our wreath.
And then here is the final look.
// shabby chic
I wanted to do a pink shabby chic wreath and we’ll start by making some fabric flowers for it. It sounds complicated, but I promise it’s super easy!
You can find different colors of felt at Dollar Tree and they come in these little rolls in the craft section. I’m cutting several squares out of the white felt.
I drew a circle to go by on my squares, but if you have confidence in your circle cutting skills, then you don’t have to do that part.
Then I cut the outer edge with a wavy texture and continued cutting in a spiral to the middle of the felt. I did the inner spirals with a straight cut, and only waved the very outer edge.
Then take the end you started the cut on and wrap, wrap, wrap…all the way to the end.
After I had a good little collection of felt flowers, I added an iridescent foam pearl to the center of a few of them and also made sure the bottoms of the flowers were secured with hot glue.
Now for the wreath form. I’m using this foam circle from Dollar Tree. As you can see, this poor little thing has been used over and over again and I’m not giving up on it yet! I like to recycle my craft supplies so I can change up the look of all my projects every year. With this pink chenille yarn from Dollar Tree, we’ll be able to easily cover any missing foam on that wreath form.
I decided to use this cute hot pink checkered ribbon around the chenille yarn. I think this is looking so pretty!
I added the felt roses to the wreath with some hot glue and then decided to add something extra near the flowers.
I had found this birdhouse at Dollar Tree and it reminds me of love birds, so I’m going to paint it pink and then add it above those roses.
For the finishing touch, I decided to use my pearl beading and wrapped this around that ribbon. I think this really dressed it up and added that shabby chic look to the wreath.
And here is the final wreath. It’s a little “extra”, but isn’t that what shabby chic is all about?!
// traditional red and white
I know I’ve shown you some pink options, but if pink isn’t your thing, there’s nothing wrong with traditional red and white, so that’s what we’ll be creating here. I have a wooden hoop and am painting it white. This black and white reminds me that I did completely black and white Valentine’s Day crafts last year and I loved how they still looked festive even without the traditional pink or red. I’ll link that video right here for you, in case you want to check it out.
This year Dollar Tree had these really sturdy hearts and I thought they would be so cute on our traditional wreath. I’m going to attach these to the bottom of the hoop and also add a little bow on the top of them to cover up that hole.
To keep going with the bird theme, I think a red bird from Dollar Tree will look so sweet. Ideally 2 of these little birds would have looked even cuter, but I only had one on hand. I still think it looks cute and with a few roses we are going to have a really pretty, easy and low cost wreath.
It’s amazing how sometimes the most simple designs look the most elegant.

How about some Target Dollar Spot crafts and Dollar Tree coastal transformations. We’ll be putting together tiered tray miniatures to decorate our little coastal vignette.
