Super Cute DIY Cupcake Ornaments
Do you want to see how to make cupcake ornaments? I have been seeing dessert themed ornaments in all the stores this year and they would be perfect to add a little sparkle and glam to any Christmas tree. Keep reading or check out the video below to see how to make a cupcake ornament. And just a hint…it’s super easy!
As you can probably tell from the name of my blog, I love cupcakes…and I love being artsy. So, what better Christmas DIY to make than a cupcake Christmas ornament? If you don’t love cupcakes, I bet you know someone who does and this cupcake ornament would be a great handmade gift for a fellow cupcake lover and would even be a fun little DIY to do with your family. There are so many ways you can customize these to fit with your favorite Christmas color scheme. I did a more traditional color scheme, but you could make these as fun and colorful as you want. Ok, so let’s get right into this tutorial starting with the materials you will need.
// SUPPLIES
Glass Ornaments (click here for the ones I found at Michael’s)
Tacky Glue (click here for the one I used)
Ribbon (this one is a close match to what I used)
Glitter Paint (click here for the glitter paint I used)
Berry pick for “cherry” on top
// step 1
It helps to save the tray those glass ornaments came in because it makes a great stand to hold your project while you are working on it! First, I removed the hook at the top of the ornament. Then I used the glitter paint to create “icing” at the top of the cupcake. This would be the time to add any glitter or “sprinkles” to your cupcake. That tray will also come in handy to catch any glitter you use! Let this dry thoroughly.
// step 2
Loop a piece of ribbon and place inside the glass ornament. Glue the cherry from your berry decor pick on top with the tacky glue.
// step 3
Take the glitter paint and touch up any areas between the ribbon where the ornament is still showing through.
// step 4
Add a small amount of tacky glue to the bottom of the cupcake liners and place your ornament into the liner. Let dry on a flat surface.

Look how pretty these came out! I think anyone would love to receive one of these and they add a touch of fun to the Christmas tree. If you want more Christmas decor inspiration, check out my holiday tablescape!
