// wreath with cross
Let’s get started on the first one which is a gorgeous wreath.
We are going to start with a hoop and wrap it with some Dollar Tree nautical rope. You won’t need to go all the way around, because we will use some florals on the empty area.
I stuck the florals down with glue, but also added some Dollar Tree floral wire to make sure they were extra secure.
I really want to celebrate the Easter holiday, so I’m going to add a cross to this wreath.
To make the cross, I’m taking 4 large craft sticks and using my miter shears to cut off the round ends.
I sanded the ends and then added a few pieces on the back to make sure everything stayed aligned and didn’t bow too much.
I gave that cross a coat of white paint and made a crown from some twine I found at Dollar Tree and then added that to the wreath.
I cleaned up any stray pieces from the rope and think this looks so beautiful!
// round sign with cross
This is a pizza pan from Dollar Tree that we are upcycling from another project.
I already spray painted the back of it white and am measuring it so I can make a printable. I will put that form to download the printables at the bottom of this post.
I chose the sage green color so it would tie in with the wreath we made.
I mixed up a greige color here with mostly white, a touch of black and a touch of brown.
If you’re familiar with my design aesthetic, I always like a clean look to my crafts. I like a little aged look, but not all out rustic, so I wanted to do a bit of a wood texture here but as you can see, it’s a really subtle texture.
I used some Super 77 to stick down that printable and then hot glued some Dollar Tree nautical rope to the edges.
I grabbed my trusty Dollar Tree mop head and pulled out a couple more strings from that to create a white border around the sign.
I want to add a cross to this sign and we’ll be using these wooden blocks that are actually from a mini game of Jenga. You can find that tower block game in the toy section of Dollar Tree.
I glued these together and gave this a couple coats of white paint. I wanted just a little bit of the texture of the wood showing through.
We’re using this soft white microfiber cloth, which can be found in the automotive section of Dollar Tree and, well, you can probably guess where I’m going with this. I want to drape it over the cross. The placement of a white cloth on the cross on Easter Sunday represents the purity and wholeness of Christ's resurrection. You may also notice a use of Lilies on Easter and this is because they symbolize purity and new life as well.
I always tend to stop my crafts before they go to far. Because it’s really easy to take it too far with embellishments and have it look overly done or gaudy. So, I always take a step back about half way through and ask myself, is this enough trim, or should I stop here? I usually play it on the safe side and stop before it has gone too far.
So, I did wonder if this needed a bow. But I like the round shape and don’t want to take away from that by adding a bow that would hang off the top.
In this case because I have the 3 dimensional cross, I think that adds enough interest to this piece, so I’m not going to add a bow.
I added a little raised dot sticker that I had painted white and this will make the cross all elevated at the same height.
And here is the final Easter sign. It turned out so great, you never would know it used to be a pizza pan!
// prayer bowl (but it’s a tray)
I saw this small wooden tray at Dollar Tree and gave it a coat of white spray paint primer as a base.
Then I used the same greige color we had mixed up earlier and am painting the whole tray in this color.
We are going to make this into a prayer bowl. If you’ve never heard of those, they are a small bowl where you can put a piece of paper with your prayer request.
I put a light coat of Super 77 on the printable and then laid it down on the tray and smoothed it down.
I added some of that nautical rope to the edges with a little hot glue.
I had these wooden balls, and painted them white, but I’m pretty sure you can find something similar at Dollar Tree in their craft section. If not, you could use ping pong balls for this part too.
Prayer bowls typically have little pieces of paper next to them, so you can write your prayers and fold them up and put in the bowl. We’re kind of doing a prayer tray here instead of a bowl, but similar concept, so I created these prayer cards to match the tray.
These are also part of that printable download, so scroll to the bottom if you want a copy.
I think this would be great to have on the Easter dinner table, so everyone can take a prayer card with them and lift up their family and friends prayers during the Holy weekend.
I hope you were inspired to make one or more of these Easter DIYs.

How about some Target Dollar Spot crafts and Dollar Tree coastal transformations. We’ll be putting together tiered tray miniatures to decorate our little coastal vignette.
